The cause of the incident was the emergence of an account called “father of eight children” on DouYin(TikTok in China), which published the daily life of a caring rural father and his children with difficult living conditions. This account has received much attention. Journalists often went to interview the family, and fans went to donate living materials until people realized a serious question: where is the children’s mother? So, the woman with chains around her neck and had become insane appeared in front of the camera, which ignited netizens’ anger — people realized that this was not a good father’s story but a cold and cruel case of women’s abduction and trafficking.

Although the people involved in trafficking and the local government bureaucrats who acquiesced in such criminal acts have been punished by law, nothing of these can make up for the poor woman’s experience. She was forced to separate from her family and her former life, becoming a fertility machine. For more than 20 years, no one came to rescue her, and even her own children chose to ignore what she had been through.

Although her body cannot escape and her soul is numb, she still hopes that her children can fly from this hell to the outside world like butterflies as a mother.
